- Events that cause you distress
- Thoughts that pop up when the event occurs
- Checking if the thought or feeling is reality or fiction (cognitive distortion)
- Come up with solutions moving forward (how to change behavior or habit, role play, visualization, how to be mindful to calm and relax the body)
