Grandma Norma’s Date Torte Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 cup chopped dates
• 1 tbsp butter
• 1 tsp (baking) soda
• Pinch of salt
• 1 egg, beaten
• ½ cup cream
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 cup hot water
• 1 cup sugar
• ½ cup flour
• ½ cup chopped nuts

Instructions

Sprinkle (baking) soda over dates, then add boiling water, let cool, then add the other ingredients and bake 25 minutes.
