Prophets and Psychic Mediums, is there a difference?

I had a client last night asking me if it was sinful as a Christian to believe in and talk to psychics. I reminded her that many people in the Bible, including many of the saints in Catholicism, were prophets, which is an old time-y way to say psychic. Noah knew there would be a flood before anyone else, Jesus knew that Judas would betray him beforehand, and Jesus even knew he would be crucified and asked God to remove this from him under an olive tree. Don’t forget about the miracle of Fatima in 1917, which had thousands of witnesses, and Catholics established a special festival and day around.

Psychics have been around for millennia, predicting everything from the weather, deaths, wars and births. In fact many of the saints and ascended masters are psychic! They were predicting things all the time and receiving messages from the other side in the form of booming voices and visions of angels. The vatican keeps The Prophecy of the Popes in their archives among many other references to prophecies. Think of how many times an angel or other being appeared to those in the bible; Archangel Gabriel to Mary (kinda a big announcement), the burning bush to Moses, a voice to Saul who later turned into Pope Paul and started the church.

Kind of ridiculous if you really think about it for people to think that psychics are evil or wrong.

I think what happened is we revere or put the word “prophet” on a pedestal. Then down the line we created a new word, “psychic”, which conjures images of homeless rogues in red carriages and hoop earrings. The image is slightly ridiculous. Also don’t forget Saul who was a bit on the naughty side turned into Paul after hearing God. He turned his life around. You don’t have to be a saint from birth to hear God or your angels.

So next time you feel a bit bad about going to a psychic, remind yourself of all the visions and booming voices in the bible. The caution is just society or the culture you were raised in, not because you shouldn’t listen to what your angels and guides are telling you.

I’ve had dreams that came true within 24 hours of having them. Two of the most notable is having a dream of being in a plane crash 24 hours before a plane disappeared in the news over the mediterranean sea and having a dream of my mother dying 24 hours before her first heart attack. During a reading my maternal grandmother came to me clearly, telling me to teach my mother about energy healing 24 hours before she fell and broke numerous bones on a cruise. I have closeted friends who also hear God or have visions, afraid to come out of their shell because of a cultural taboo around psychics. I think there are many closeted metaphysical people because of the fear to be labeled “crazy”. I hope with the popularity of Long Island Medium and others that the judgement against speaking with those crossed over will be rectified.
