I hadn’t been to SeaWorld San Antonio, TX for at least 20 years. I remember coming here when I was in the Zoological Society at Texas A&M back in ~2000. Some things have changed but thank goodness the shows were still engaging and exciting as ever. The Orca show in particular we had to see twice, could have 3 times if I had the energy. The music is jumpy, exciting and inspirational. They only have 4 orcas left; run, don’t walk, to SeaWorld San Antonio to see them before they don’t have this show anymore!
The Beluga and Pacific white sided dolphin show was unique, they didn’t have this at San Diego with these two species. The sea lion show was very funny, I saw the Christmas version, but they rotate through the year.
The BBQ restaurant outside of the Orca show was recommended to me so we ate there. The 1/4 chicken with 1 side is filling, of course pair it with a delightful dessert of cupcakes, cookies or pudding. The pretzel shop looked yummy, the free smells were amazing.
Every gift shop seemed to have different stuff, so its worth a look inside to see if they have anything unique in the different shops. Once you leave one the other may not have the same thing.
Also the arcade is big and fun. I excelled at basketball, but enjoyed a good old fashioned game of skeeball.
As far as hotels we stayed at the IHG Holiday Inn Sea World Hotel across the street. I don’t regret it one bit, the breakfast buffet and $1-a-game pool tables make it worth it. For dinner their restaurant has a good salmon salad or plate. Full bar as well. The rooms have nice big TVs.
SeaWorld and Holiday Inn did not sponsor this blog, this is just my opinions of my trip. Cheers!
