So I’ve been thinking about the phrase lately “penny wise but pound foolish”.

Sales people in particular say you have to spend money to make money, but oftentimes, if not all the time, I see this coming out of a salesperson’s mouth or somebody trying to sell fancy clothes, and that makes me skeptical.  The obvious reason is that they’re trying they’re to break through your financial barriers to sell you something, and that reduces their credibility.

What do you think are the situations or scenarios where actually spending more than the lowest dollar counts? I saw one YouTube short of a lawyer who was comparing himself to a recent graduate of Law School and how he won the case just because he had decades more experience. He was explaining that it was the difference between $724 an hour and $25 an hour. In his case his client being able to afford the better lawyer was advantageous to the winner, however we all know there are cases where we want to save money. When is it appropriate to save and when is it detrimental?

For different people it seems to be a variety of things trigger the money flow, for one person they observed that spending money on charity would result in a boost in their income. For other people it may be going out to a restaurant, shopping, spending time with family. Have you noticed what actions boost your money flow?
